  • Premium Users: If you upgrade to a premium subscription and are signed into your Chrome browser, we may access your Chrome account email address solely to sync your subscription status across your devices.

We use data solely to improve the product and understand our audience. All data collected is aggregated and anonymous.

  • Google Analytics: We monitor extension usage to identify bugs and improve performance. This data is processed without collecting IP addresses or personal identifiers.

  • Anonymous Surveys: You may occasionally see optional surveys. These responses are sent to Google Sheets for market research purposes only.

We do not store your financial information.

  • Lemon Squeezy: All payments and subscriptions are handled securely by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy.

5. AI Analysis and Backend Infrastructure

TermOver AI uses a secure backend infrastructure to process your requests.

  • Cloudflare Workers: All extension requests are routed through our secure Cloudflare Workers backend. This backend acts as a secure proxy, ensuring your data is transmitted safely and that no API keys are exposed on the client side.

  • OpenAI Integration: The text from the Terms of Service page you are viewing is sent through our Cloudflare backend to OpenAI's API for AI-powered summarization.

  • Data Transmitted: We do not send any personal information, user identifiers, or browsing history to our backend or OpenAI — only the legal text being analyzed on the current page.

We utilize trusted third-party services to provide our core functionality:

  • Cloudflare Workers: Secure backend infrastructure for all API communications.

  • OpenAI: AI-powered Terms of Service analysis.

  • Airtable: Caching ToS summaries.

  • Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing.

  • Google Analytics & Sheets: Usage analytics and surveys.

8. Permissions We Request

Our Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

  • activeTab & Host Permissions: To read Terms of Service text on the pages you choose to scan.

  • Storage: To save your preferences and cache scan results locally.

  • Identity: To access your Chrome email (only if signed in) for premium subscription sync across devices.

  • Scripting: To inject our content script that detects and analyzes ToS pages.

9. Data Retention

  • Local Data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data.

  • Airtable Cache: ToS summaries are cached for up to 180 days, then refreshed.

  • Analytics Data: Retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention policies.

  • Survey Responses: Retained in Google Sheets indefinitely for market research.

10. Your Rights and Choices

  • Opt-out of Surveys: All surveys are optional — simply close them without responding.

  • Clear Local Data: You can clear extension data through your browser settings.

  • Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data.

11. Children's Privacy

TermOver AI is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
